2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds: Hutchinson favored; McKinney rising

Week 5 of the NFL season has come and gone, and there is a scrap at the top of the oddsboard to win Defensive Player of the Year.

Detroit’s Aidan Hutchinson has held on to the top spot dating back to Week 2, but he’s not without competition. 

How do the rankings look headed into Week 6?

Here’s a list of the favorites to win 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year via DraftKings Sportsbook as of Oct. 8.

NFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR ODDS:

Aidan Hutchinson, Lions: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total)
T.J. Watt, Steelers: +350 (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Maxx Crosby, Raiders: +900 (bet $10 to win $100 total)
Xavier McKinney, Packers: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
Nick Bosa, 49ers: +1100 (bet $10 to win $120 total)
Chris Jones, Chiefs: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Dexter Lawrence II, Giants: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
Fred Warner, 49ers: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)

Hutchinson remains the NFL leader in sacks (6.5), even though he’s only recorded one since Week 2 (the Lions had a bye in Week 5).

As for other names moving up the oddsboard, the Packers’ Xavier McKinney catapulted to fourth on the oddsboard this week. He has an interception every week of the season so far — he leads the league with five — and his six passes defended are tied for fifth most in the NFL.  

Lastly, Watt remained second on the board after recording 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble in the Steelers’ Week 5 loss to Dallas.
