The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting on a perfect 3-0 record.
That’s despite one of their best players being a non-factor thus far.
Travis Kelce’s slow start to the season goes on.
Through three games, he’s logged just eight catches for 69 yards.
He’s struggling to impose his will and his physicality over defensive backs as he used to do in the past, and he’s not getting any separation.
That’s why NFL analyst Mike Francesca questioned his dedication to the game of football (via Funhouse).

Talking on his podcast, he claimed that Kelce’s life has taken a drastic turn over the past year or so, and with everything he has going on outside of the gridiron, his mind might not be in football right now.
He claimed that Kelce is suddenly worried about how he dresses, paparazzi, and recording commercials, and given the way he’s played to start the season, it’s safe to question his priorities right now.
Francesca pointed out that safeties are literally stripping the ball away from his hands, which is something that rarely happened in the pre-Taylor Swift era.
Granted, Kelce isn’t getting any younger, and age might also have to do with this downfall in production.
Also, teams are clearly focusing on stopping him.
Then again, and even though it’s still early in the season and he could turn things around when it matters the most, Francesca has a valid point.
It won’t matter for as long as the Chiefs keep winning, but if that’s not the case, plenty of people will ask the same questions.
