It takes more than just one guy to find success in the National Football League.

Even if that guy happens to be your best player, you need the entire team to be in sync to get good results.

That’s why Rex Ryan wants Antonio Pierce to get rid of Davante Adams right now.

Talking on ESPN, the former head coach stated that if any player doesn’t want to be in a locker room, then the team must move on from him immediately and hope the door doesn’t hit him on his way out.

He argued that even though they might not be better without him, personnel-wise, it could be the kind of decision that could lead to better chemistry in the locker room (via NFL on ESPN).

Truth be told, Davante Adams has never had a reputation for being a toxic teammate, a diva, or someone who would create distractions or allow his personal stuff to get in the way of his professionalism.

Then again, he did request a trade four weeks into the season, so that may have rubbed some of his teammates the wrong way.

Adams is a legitimate superstar, and as such, you never want to get rid of him.

Even so, teams also need to think about the greater good and the big picture.

And with the number of teams that should be keeping tabs on Adams and making offers for him, it shouldn’t take long before the Raiders listen to Rex Ryan’s advice and show their star wide receiver the door.
