Corey Seager, Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer, Jon Gray and Tyler Mahle, Rangers

Seager was placed on the 10-day injured list with right hip discomfort on Wednesday. As of now, there’s no specific timeline for his return — and neither general manager Chris Young nor Seager wanted to speculate if this injury would officially end his season prematurely. More >

deGrom (right UCL surgery) made his third rehab appearance on Sunday with Triple-A Round Rock, tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk and striking out five. The plan is for deGrom to make his next rehab appearance for Double-A Frisco on Saturday before rejoining the Rangers. More >

Scherzer (right shoulder fatigue) is scheduled to make a rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday. He could potentially rejoin the rotation after that.

Gray (right foot neuroma) and Mahle (right shoulder stiffness) will both miss the remainder of the 2024 season. More >

Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm and Austin Hays, Phillies

Harper exited Wednesday’s game before the third inning after getting hit on his left elbow with a pitch in the first. The Phillies said he sustained a bruise and that he will be further evaluated. This is not the elbow that has been bothering Harper, who winced after taking a swing in the ninth inning of Tuesday night’s game. More >

Bohm (left hand discomfort) was out of the starting lineup Wednesday for a fifth consecutive game, although manager Rob Thomson maintained that it was not an IL situation.

The Phillies placed Hays on the 10-day IL on Thursday with a kidney infection. More >

Tucker (right shin fracture) ran again and took live batting practice on Thursday morning in Cincinnati. Manager Joe Espada said the hope is to have him ready to go for the series opener against the D-backs on Friday in Houston. More >

Marte (left ankle sprain) could “potentially” be activated during the D-backs’ upcoming weekend series in Houston, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Marte is participating in full baseball activities and has been ramping up the intensity in recent days. More >

Byron Buxton and Max Kepler, Twins

Buxton (right hip inflammation) was expected to be re-evaluated after experiencing a recurrence of soreness and discomfort in his right hip during a rehab game on Wednesday. He had been slated to rejoin the Twins on Friday, but his return could be on hold now.

Kepler was placed on the 10-day IL on Thursday with left patellar tendinitis. More >

Hunter Greene, Matt McLain, Jeimer Candelario and Andrew Abbott, Reds

Greene (right elbow soreness) threw his first side bullpen session on Thursday and has another scheduled for Sunday.

McLain (left shoulder surgery) is now pain free after dealing with persistent soreness in his side from a ribcage stress reaction, according to manager David Bell on Thursday. McLain was cleared to work his way back to baseball activity and see how he progresses.

Candelario (left big toe fracture) is still experiencing discomfort in his toe, Bell said on Thursday.

Abbott (left shoulder strain) was cleared to begin a throwing program on Wednesday. More >

Grayson Rodriguez and Dean Kremer, Orioles

Rodriguez threw about 20 pitches during a bullpen session on Wednesday. It was the first time the 24-year-old right-hander had thrown off a mound since going on the injured list on Aug. 7 (retroactive to Aug. 4). Rodriguez remains encouraged by his progress and the possibility of returning to the Orioles’ rotation before the end of the regular season.

Kremer (right forearm contusion) threw a bullpen on Tuesday at Camden Yards, but it’s unclear if he will make his next scheduled start. Kremer was hit in the right forearm by a 103.1 mph line drive during the fourth inning of his previous start on Saturday at Coors Field. More >

Naylor (back spasms) was out of Wednesday’s lineup but was available to pinch-hit. More >

Albies (fractured left wrist) still has yet to be cleared to take batting practice, although he is hitting off a tee and completing defensive drills. The Braves still are not able to project when he might begin a rehab assignment, putting a 2024 return in doubt. More >

For the first time since straining his calf in a July 26 game against the Braves, Senga threw around 25 relatively high-intensity pitches off a mound on Wednesday. More >

Robbie Ray and Jordan Hicks, Giants

Ray (left hamstring strain) threw two simulated innings in a bullpen session at Oracle Park on Wednesday and is expected to build up to three innings on Saturday.

Hicks (right shoulder stiffness) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session at Oracle Park on Wednesday and is scheduled to get off the mound again on Saturday. More >

Manager Kevin Cash said on Wednesday that Fairbanks (right lat strain) has been “feeling pretty good” while playing catch, but he has yet to throw off a mound.

Palacios (right knee sprain) is scheduled to play in a “bridge league” complex game during the week of Sept. 9. More >

Andrew McCutchen, Pirates

McCutchen was a late scratch for Wednesday’s series finale at Wrigley Field after arriving to the ballpark with a knee that was feeling “a little cranky,” per manager Derek Shelton. He remained out of the lineup Thursday. More >

Bichette (right calf strain) has resumed running the bases, a key step in his recovery. If all goes well, he could begin a rehab assignment as early as next week. More >

Sánchez left Tuesday’s game against the Nationals in the second inning after experiencing a mild back spasm while stealing second base. He was still out of the starting lineup on Thursday but was expected to be available off the bench. More >
