Belal Muhammad is on top of the world after his recent trip to Manchester, England.

“Remember the Name” entered UFC 304 as the underdog in his main event rematch against Leon Edwards and played spoiler last weekend (July 27, 2024). Muhammad, 36, utilized his strong blend of striking and wrestling to pressure “Rocky” consistently over five rounds to win a unanimous decision and become the new Welterweight champion.

Muhammad has always had supreme confidence but being able to finally shut all the doubters up has taken things to a new level.

“Cry, right? You guys that were talking,” Muhammad said on the Anik & Florian Podcast. “You guys were hating. All these guys wanted to come out. [Alexander] Volkanovski, ‘Man, I think Belal’s a good match up for me if I fight him.’ Shut up, bro. I’ll smack the hell out of you. All these guys, right?

“There’s nobody in the UFC that will beat me,” he continued. “There’s nobody in the UFC that I can’t look at and tell you my path to victory. I look at all these guys, all these opponents, keep putting me as the underdog, and I’m gonna keep going out there and dominating. This wasn’t a hard fight. This was an easy fight and I said it was gonna be easy.”

After this latest win, Muhammad is now unbeaten in 11 consecutive fights, with his only non-victory being the first Edwards bout, a no-contest, in March 2021.

Planning to be an active champion, Muhammad expects his first defense to come opposite the undefeated 18-0 contender, Shavkat Rakhmonov. Muhammad admits October 2024 would be a bit early because of some small injuries from the Edwards rematch, but November or December are “ideal” return months.
