The Cleveland Browns will be a sneaky team to track during the upcoming 2024 NFL season as they’ve got the pieces on both sides of the field to compete in the AFC.
After coming up short in the 2024 NFL Playoffs, the Browns will be banking on better health and continuity to get them back to the postseason.
Deshaun Watson figures to be fully recovered from last season’s shoulder injury, while Nick Chubb should be able to come back at some point during the middle of the year.
Defensively, Cleveland projects to be one of the best units in the league again as they’ve got a ferocious front seven led by Myles Garrett.
Aside from the pass rush, the secondary also looks better on paper though there is also room for improvement.
To shore up some of their secondary depth, the Browns have signed former Denver Broncos safety Faion Hicks via the team’s official Twitter account.
“We’ve signed S Faion Hicks and made other roster moves,” the Browns announced.

Hicks was originally a seventh-round pick by Denver and appeared in two games his rookie year before being waived.
During the 2023 NFL season, Hicks was with the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad and now finds himself in Cleveland with a chance to compete for a roster spot.
A signing like Hicks in the middle of training camp usually signals that the player will be a candidate to go on the practice squad and that seems like the most likely route for the Wisconsin product.
Still it’s a low-risk signing that might pay dividends down the road for the Browns.
