RB Leipzig have taken a resolute stance in their negotiations with Barcelona over the transfer of Dani Olmo, insisting on a fixed €60 million transfer fee.

According to Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo, the German club is unwilling to budge from their valuation after rejecting Barcelona’s first offer of €40 million plus €20 million in variables.

Leipzig’s stance is rooted in their belief that Olmo’s termination clause is €60 million, a price they deem reasonable considering his recent performances in the European Championship.

The club is proud of their player and feels that their asking price is, in fact, below his true worth. They point to examples like Joao Neves, a 19-year-old midfielder who is about to join PSG for €70 million, to justify their valuation.

The German club is also perplexed by Barcelona’s willingness to pay €62 million for 21-year-old Nico Williams while offering only €40 million for Olmo.

Leipzig see this as a discrepancy and are unwilling to compromise on their price while also expecting another offer worth €45 million plus €15 million in add-ons. This could likely seal the process as five of these variables would be relatively easy to fulfil.

Olmo, meanwhile, is eager to take the next step in his career and is considering multiple options beyond Barcelona, including Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and potentially Manchester City if Kevin De Bruyne departs.

Olmo has made it clear both privately and publicly that he wants to join a club that recognizes and appreciates his abilities.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig’s firm stance on Olmo’s transfer fee highlights the club’s confidence in their player’s abilities and their commitment to securing a fair price.

As negotiations continue, the next steps will depend on Barcelona’s willingness to meet these demands or whether other potential suitors will step in with competitive offers.
