McKenna, who was originally set to fight Polyana Viana, has made some adjustments to her training since her defeat to Amorim.

The Cwmbran fighter has hired additional coaches, with a specific focus on improving her jujitsu.

McKenna said the additional training has made “a huge difference” in her preparation.

“It was obviously not the result I wanted [against Amorim],” said McKenna.

“I got straight back into the gym, I hired a couple of additional coaches and I also went down to San Diego to train with the UFC girls and black belts down there.

“Instead of just going to jujitsu classes I’ve been breaking down stuff specific for me.

“I’ve been going in a few times a week, it’s been a lot more thought out, it’s been techniques specific for me and for the looks I will see in fights.

“I feel like it has made a huge difference.”

McKenna goes into the fight ranked five places higher than her Polastri.

Victory on Saturday would move McKenna into the top 30, and the “heartbreak” suffered in March’s defeat is only spurring her on more.

“I’m focusing on myself to make sure I’m going in there as the best version of myself,” said McKenna.

“I jumped straight into training after my last fight, I’m a sore loser, so I’m motivated to not let that happen again.

“I’m focused on Julia, it’s been something to focus on to take away from the heartbreak of losing.”
