There has been plenty of anxiety surrounding the Dallas Cowboys over the last several months ever since they were dumped in the wild-card round of last season’s playoffs by the Green Bay Packers.

They made meager offseason moves to address their roster holes while losing several key players, and pass rusher Micah Parsons, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott are all due for contract extensions.

For now, at least, the Cowboys have placed Lamb on the reserve/did not report list, per Ian Rapoport.

Lamb has taken significant steps forward each year since coming into the NFL in 2020, and in 2023, he had 1,749 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns while leading the league with 135 receptions.

As a result, he was named to the Pro Bowl for the third straight year while earning his first All-Pro First Team nod.

With the contract situations of so many of their key players up in the air, this could be the last year for the Cowboys’ roster as presently constituted, which means this could be the last chance for the Cowboys as presently constituted to win the Super Bowl championship.

In eight years with Prescott under center, they haven’t gone farther than the divisional round of the playoffs — in fact, they haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season, which also happens to be the last time they won it all.

The pressure is definitely on “America’s Team” to have something to show for all of their star power before they lose at least some of it.
