Longtime GLORY kickboxer, Michael Duut, was shot and injured on Weds. evening (Sept. 18) at his home in the Netherlands, following a dispute over a horse owned by the alleged shooter. That’s according to a report from Beyond Kick, citing Duut’s friend Alex Soze.

Duut was hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his legs.

Police have arrested both Duut and the shooter, according to a follow-up post from VechtSportInfo. Duut was listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery; however, the injury — and his involvement in the dispute — leave a question mark over the future of his kickboxing career.

Reports suggest the shooter may have also been injured during the conflict.

Duut, 34, was last seen dropping a unanimous decision to Mohamed Amine as part of the GLORY 85 event in Rotterdam. “The Dream Crusher” has struggled in the years following his standout performance in the Light Heavyweight Contender Tournament, dropping six of eight and getting finished twice in the process.

Duut holds kickboxing victories over UFC fighters Dustin Jacoby and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
