‘He looks like a bald Gandalf’ — Dana White reads mean tweets ahead of UFC 306

UFC CEO Dana White sat down to read old tweets, some of them mean, ahead of the UFC 306 pay-per-view (PPV) event this Sat. night (Sept. 14, 2024) at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, part of the annual “Noche” celebration that features the bantamweight title fight pitting Sean O’Malley (c) opposite Merab Dvalishvili.

White used the opportunity to once again stump for current heavyweight champion Jon Jones as the top pound-for-pound fighter in mixed martial arts (MMA), while also revealing he’s unfamiliar with Gandalf, the popular wizard from the The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings novels (and subsequent movies).

Speaking of fictional creatures, he’s also never heard of Colin Fletcher.

White will be on hand this week, both live and in holographic form, to hand out championship titles at UFC 306. In addition to the O’Malley vs. Dvalishvili headliner, flyweight champion Alexa Grasso will settle her 125-pound score with former division titleholder Valentina Shevchenko.
