Jon Jones went for a swim with his bro-squad and shared some of the photos on social media. “Bones” is looking particularly jacked ahead of his UFC 309 title defense against Stipe Miocic next month in New York City, leading to accusations of steroid abuse from the stuck-in-the-mud “trolls” on Instagram.
“Whole bunch of trolls whose dreams never came true,” the heavyweight champ wrote. “Stuck in the mud talking about he’s on steroids.”
To be fair, Jones has a spotty (some say complicated) record when it comes to UFC drug tests and those darned picograms. That appears to be water under the bridge now that we’ve established a precedence for scientific misunderstandings and changed the rules for what constitutes cheating.
Regardless, the 37 year-old Jones may opt to call it quits after his Miocic fight at Madison Square Garden and will then be able to safely take whatever supplements he chooses (like this fellow UFC fighter), for better or worse.
