The Green Bay Packers had high hopes when the 2024 NFL season began, but Jordan Love, their ascendant young quarterback, injured his knee in their Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was expected that Love would be out for a while after he was diagnosed with an MCL sprain, but it’s the type of injury that has varying degrees, and it doesn’t necessarily mean someone will be sidelined for a month or two.

In fact, Love recently returned to practice and could have a chance to play in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans.

“I’m hopeful that I can get to that point where I can get in there, but we’re just going to take it day by day,” Love said, via NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Love took over the Packers after Aaron Rodgers was traded during the offseason, and after a rocky first half of the season, he was red-hot down the stretch and led them to an unexpected playoff berth.

This season, in Week 2 without Love, backup Malik Willis stepped up by completing 12 of 14 pass attempts, while running back Josh Jacobs had 151 rushing yards as Green Bay defeated the Indianapolis Colts.

Green Bay now will visit Tennessee, a winless AFC team that is deceptively talented, and in a very competitive NFC North division, every game matters a lot.

In 2023, Love was second in the NFL with 32 passing touchdowns as the Packers won six of their last eight regular season games and earned a playoff victory against the Dallas Cowboys.

In Week 1 of 2024, Love didn’t resemble his late-season self from 2023, as he completed only half of his 34 pass attempts and had an interception in the third quarter that led to the Packers losing the lead for good.
