Since the very beginning of the National Football League, purists have talked about the importance of the three phases of the game.

Everybody talks about offense and defense, but people often tend to forget about special teams.

Special teams players are often seen as disposable.

They don’t want to put their actual stars at risk there, so they use inexperienced players or guys who rarely take the field to play snaps on offense and defense, and they all make less money than other players.

However, despite all that, there’s a handful of special teams players who have established themselves as marquee names in the league, and Justin Tucker is at the top of that list at the moment.

Considered by several as the greatest kicker of all time — or at least one of the three best — the Baltimore Ravens star never ceases to amaze with his accuracy and leg strength.

That was the case again during Wednesday’s practice when he knocked down a stunning kick from 68 yards (via Dov Kleiman).

For whatever reason, the referees ruled the kick as no good, but the clip clearly shows that he actually pulled it off.

The Ravens star currently holds the record for the longest field goal in NFL history at 66 yards, so it’s not that far-fetched to think that he could pull this off in an actual game.

Just imagine losing a game on a 68-yard field goal and how crazy social media would be if that were to happen.
