Official Mayweather vs. Gotti 2 salaries: How much will ‘Money’ make for Mexico City debut?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be back in action this weekend to put his undefeated combat record on the line against former opponent John Gotti III and make another impressive cash grab to pay for his lavish lifestyle.

In case you forgot, Mayweather’s first exhibition boxing match with Gotti in June 2023 ended after excessive trash talking and a near-brawl inside of the ring (see the chaos HERE). That is the last time fight fans saw Mayweather compete so this weekend’s rematch against Gotti will be watched very closely. After all, “Money” turns 48 years old next year.

On Saturday, Mayweather will step back inside of the ring and meet Gotti atop a packed card LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. It will be the first time in the long career of Mayweather that he is competing on Mexican soil. With past fights against the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Victor Ortiz, Mayweather isn’t the most popular guy south of the border.

In order to lock down Mayweather’s services and get him back inside of the ring, the powers that be needed to round up roughly $20-$25 million to offer “Money.” This is according to a recent report by Marca, which states that Mayweather’s payday for his rematch with Gotti will be for a “more modest” amount compared so some of his other massive payouts. It’s unknown at this time how much money Gotti is expected to walk away with.

What do you think, Maniacs? Is Mayweather worth this much anymore or is he being vastly overpaid?

Let’s discuss!
