The Pittsburgh Steelers knew they needed to improve their QB room this season.
They did so by signing Russell Wilson and trading for Justin Fields.
And while some were hesitant about the latter, he’s done a very good job in the first three games of the season.
It seems like the job is now Fields’ to lose, even when Wilson is back to full strength.
Considering that, Rex Ryan thinks this could go down as the greatest trade in NFL history (via Amanda Godsey).

Talking on ESPN, the former head coach remembered that the Steelers got Fields for a conditional sixth-round pick, which is a laughable price to pay for someone who might turn out to be their franchise quarterback.
Ryan compared Fields with Steve Young in the sense that they were both better athletes than quarterbacks when they first entered the league.
Then again, he’s now 7-2 in his last nine starts, and more importantly, he’s taking great care of the football right now.
Fields has only thrown one interception this season, and just like Ryan said, it was deflected off three people.
Moreover, Ryan believes that his mobility and athleticism could be crucial for the modern game, as dual-threat quarterbacks are the new normal.
It’s a small sample size, but Fields has looked calm and collected in the pocket and in full control of the offense.
Wilson’s injury may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for this team, and giving up just a sixth-round pick to get him makes Omar Khan look like a genius.
