Nassourdine Imavov scored an important win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight division at UFC Paris last night (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) when he defeated Brendan Allen via unanimous decision in a mostly forgettable fight from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France. Imavov snapped Allen’s seven-fight win streak.
Maybe it was corrupt French officials.
Allen’s loss at UFC Paris was detrimental as his Middleweight title hopes were shattered for the foreseeable future. The 28-year-old has been calling for a fight with UFC Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis for the past two years, even before he captured gold.
“I’ve been wanting to fight him since he got to the UFC, and he’s been steadily flying by and taking the easy fights. It is what it is. He got the belt off it, but did he earn it? Is it his belt? To each their own.”
Well, after the “All In’s” loss on Sat., Du Plessis finally responded to the trash talk, and it was cold.
“Tough luck @BrendanAllenMMA. JK you suck loser,” Du Plessis wrote on Twitter.
It was a simple yet very effective response from the UFC Middleweight champ. The man has a way with words and lowkey might be the best trash talker in UFC (he made Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland cry).
Du Plessis is currently waiting for his next title fight assignment.
