The Minnesota Vikings will be facing an old rival in London this week in quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers has started against the Vikings 29 times in his career and has had plenty of great battles against them going back to his 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Longtime Vikings safety Harrison Smith, who started facing off against Rodgers back in 2012, is about to face the four-time MVP for the 21st time.

“He’s seen it all, done it all. (He’s) still got, in my opinion, the best arm that’s ever played,” Smith told the Minnesota media Thursday.

It is nice to see the respect between two longtime competitors and rivals.

Minnesota is currently sitting atop the NFC at 4-0 and looking to keep their perfect record while the Jets are coming off a tough loss at home to the Denver Broncos and are sitting at 2-2.

If the season was to end today, both teams would be in the playoffs.

That is why it would not be a surprise if both of these teams met again in early February down in New Orleans.

For now, both are simply trying to make a statement to the rest of the league.

Of course, the Jets want Rodgers’s play to determine the outcome of the game while Smith and the Vikings’ defense hope to put a stop to any of his efforts.

Look for the individual matchup between the legendary quarterback and the six-time Pro Bowl safety to be a huge factor in this cross-conference matchup across the pond.
