Although the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated, they have some issues, and at the top of the list are injuries.

Emerging star wide receiver Rashee Rice suffered an ACL injury in Week 4, and it is feared he could be lost for the season.

Also on the shelf is running back Isiah Pacheco, who has a fractured right fibula and is out indefinitely.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, they have been able to open the window for another running back — Clyde Edwards-Helaire — to return from the non-football illness list, according to Arye Pulli of The Sports Place.

Edwards-Helaire hasn’t played this season, but in the past has been a reliable option for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.

Recently, the Chiefs brought back running back Kareem Hunt, who started his career with them in 2017, to fill the gap at running back, and he was impactful in his first game.

He ran for 69 yards on 14 rushing attempts and added 16 yards on two receptions.

With his help, Kansas City was able to overcome an early deficit and defeat the Los Angeles Chargers.

The injuries have put more pressure on superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has been a bit shaky to start the season, as he has five interceptions, which is an unusually high number for him in just four games.

Aging star tight end Travis Kelce and promising rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy will have to produce until Rice, Pacheco and Edwards-Helaire are back in action, starting in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football.”
