The Minnesota Vikings are sitting pretty during their bye week as they own a 5-0 record so far during the 2024 NFL season.

The Vikings have proven they are a quality playoff team thus far, thanks to a resurgent year from Sam Darnold.

Darnold has looked rejuvenated playing under head coach Kevin O’Connell, though he’s also gotten a lot of help from his defense.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores is leading a defense that has been ferocious defending the field at all three levels, though some cracks have begun to show in the secondary.

While Minnesota has done well to shut down running backs, they are still susceptible to wide receivers who can get downfield.

With that in mind, they could look to shore up that weakness by signing someone like Patrick Peterson who is more than open to a reunion with the team via The Purple Persuasion.

“I would like to be there too, man,” Peterson said. “I love the coaching staff there. Coach Kevin had an opportunity to build a solid relationship over the nine months that I was with him and it’s just a great feel and a great organization to be around. Great guys to be around and show up to work with every day. ”

Peterson spent two seasons with the Vikings and is currently waiting for the right opportunity from a contender to come back to the league.

The veteran was one of the best defensive backs in the NFL during his prime, and while he’s on the downswing of his career he could certainly step in and help a team like Minnesota.
