Matt Frevola suffered a devastating loss at UFC Paris last night (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) when he was brutally knocked unconscious by Fares Ziam in the round by a nasty knee from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France (watch highlights).

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) company officials confirmed to MMAMania.com that Frevola was transported to a local Paris hospital following his knockout loss for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face.

Frevola was cleared to go home but suffered a fractured left orbital courtesy of Ziam’s knee.

At the hospital, Frevola took to social media to issue a statement.

“Live by the sword, die by the sword,” Frevola wrote. “Hope you guys enjoyed the fight and thanks for all the support.”

Frevola, 34, has suffered back-to-back knockouts in his last two outings for the first time in his 17 fight career. Before his knockout loss at UFC Paris, he was stopped by Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 295 in Nov. 2023.

But, hey, the last time he was on a two-fight losing streak, he rattled off three straight first-round knockouts – Genaro Valdez, Ottman Azaitar, and Drew Dober. Maybe he’ll find his winning ways again.
