Sorry Dana, but ho-hum wins from Julianna Pena and Kayla Harrison proved PFL women’s division ‘would crush UFC’

Donn Davis was not impressed by what he saw at UFC 307.

I don’t want to speak for the PFL head cheese, but I can only assume that’s what he meant when referring to the “UFC 306” performances by Julianna Pena and Kayla Harrison, since neither competitor fought last month at The Sphere.

They did, however, register decision wins on Oct. 5 in Salt Lake City. Pena barely edged out Raquel Pennington to capture the women’s bantamweight crown, while Harrison needed the scorecards to claim victory over Ketlen Vieira.

It’s worth pointing out that Pennington was division champion and odds-on betting favorite heading into UFC 307 while Vieira was ranked No. 2 in the world. Let’s also remember that Davis is still salty about the departure of Harrison, evidenced by this recent video.

Another “irrelevant” attempt to bait UFC CEO Dana White?

Davis will have a chance to showcase his own women’s division when PFL returns to Riyadh for “Battle of the Giants” later this month in Saudi Arabia. Former UFC fighters Cris Cyborg and Larisa Pacheco will collide to establish the best female fighter competing inside the “SmartCage.”
