There will be a record-setting 96,000 fans packed into Wembley Arena to see Anthony Joshua fight Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title later today (Sat., Sept. 21, 2024) LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from London, England, but one U.K. boxing star has no interest in the main event title fight.

Joshua, who remains one of boxing’s biggest stars despite not currently holding a major title, has been long compared to fellow English heavyweight, Tyson Fury. A matchup between the two has been a long time coming, but for one reason or another the two fighters have never met inside of the ring. That could change in the future, but for now they are left to watch each other compete.

Unfortunately for Joshua, “Gypsy King” doesn’t have much interest at all in watching his title fight with Dubois this weekend in London. Fury is already booked for his awaited rematch against heavyweight superstar Oleksandr Usyk this December and doesn’t have much at stake when it comes to Joshua and Dubois, who considers to be “divvies.”

“I don’t know. I don’t really care to be honest,” Fury told IFL TV when asked who will win Saturday’s heavyweight clash. “I’ve got my fight with Oleksandr Usyk to deal with, that’s what I’m thinking about, I’m not thinking about who wins out of these two divvies… I don’t give a f—k who wins.”

Fury may not care who wins tonight’s matchup in London, but the entire boxing universe does. That’s because Joshua could line himself up for another heavyweight superfight if he’s able to get past Dubois and capture another world title. It could even line him up for a showdown with Fury in 2025, whether or not “Gypsy King” wins back his title from Usyk.

“He got a gift decision over the Gypsy King, end of… It is what it is, it’s over now,” added Fury when discussing his upcoming rematch with Usyk. “They’ve took my virginity unfairly. It’d probably feel weird if I’d done it for £50, but considering I got broke in for a lot of money it doesn’t really matter. It is what it is, you can’t undo a decision, but I’ve got the chance to do it again in December, and that’s what we’ll do. I will knock him out.”
